You're making a lot of baseless assumptions there. They "had to work hard" to make the leap to 3D with XY, but /vp/ still hates those. They "had to work hard" to make a non-grid-based world and non-chibi characters with SM, but /vp/ still hates those too. If anything, having to build new assets from the ground up takes away development time from things that /vp/ WOULD want, like postgame content and more monsters.

Drampa is a Moon exclusive, that might be why.
Togedemaru is rare, but Drampa is moderately common and isn't difficult to find at all on Lanakila. It is only a lategame mon though.

Pyukumuku is one of the more conspicuous Pokémon though. There's even a minigame for it in the game and I think it also appeared in a lot of promotional artwork.

Comfey is definitely forgettable. Bruxish is so ugly that I could never forget that thing. And Komala is kinda cute and I actually like it (and it has a unique ability) but I can see how someone can forget it easily.

No. People on forums always said they forgot Qwilfish more than Lumineon. Lumineon also appeared in the SM dex so it's a little less obscure now. I appreciated it finally appearing again, even though it's near worthless in a game full of great Water types.
