It's still the best story in the main games (not spinoffs). Gen I-II barely have stories, Gen III and IV are moronic because the Bad Guys are fucking idiots who didn't take science classes or edgelords. Team Flare was just a disaster.

Assumimg we're only talking BW I would say "decent". The characters are quite involved and plasma is a central threat that is seen often. I wish they're goal really was to liberate pokemon as that represents a genuinely interesting goal. Also N was pretty underdeveloped as a character but they tried. Cheren and Bianca were fine too, they actually felt like friends compared to shitty "friends" in XY.
