Hey OP. Ive been thinking. GF does have thr animation for Typhlosion's fire (it appears for a little bit when he attacks). So why is it that they didn't include it in his normal animation? SURELY there was a specific reason for them not to include it.

It's animation is terrible. It should be hunched over with its hands planted into the ground as it writhes it's body around or something like the terrifying eel monster it is, not flying around like a dumb windsock. The model is also way too small.

but then where is the visual representation of levitate? The Gen V sprite was bad because it telegraphed the wrong message, that you could use ground attacks and have them work. The new sprite is better because it better telegraphs the pokemon's ability, and he looks like an actual eel.

they aren't even consistent about that though
bronzong with levitate and bronzong with heatproof appear exactly the same in battle and theres no way to tell without doing a move first
magnet line clearly floats above the ground but can't have levitate
etc.

they should just scrap levitate as an ability, if it's floating then it's levitating, and they jsut use one of their other abilities

honestly i think they should get rid of abilities altogether but i doubt they'll ever do that, too much of an overhaul for a series that tries to stay the same as much as possible

keep things like a floating mon is immune to ground moves, but it's not a line in the status page saying THIS IS ITS ABILITY

You see, games run on something called memory. Back when Pokemon just used sprites, they could have stuff like constantly animated flames and the sort. However, oncr you start using 3d models, than stuff like flames can slow down the system. Kind of like how totem battles are slow, because of the extra mon + the aura animation.
