Rather, it wasn't possible. Unlike with BW2, where they spent two years making a few changes to BW, they had to make completely 3D, new set of games.

What really sucks though was that it wasn't added in Sun/Moon. For the so-called "20th anniversary" games, the PWT would've made perfect sense to be implemented.

It's even harder for SM. Look, they aren't going to make 3D models for literally all of Gym Leaders and Champions for no real reason. However cool you thought seeing them was, in the end, they were just trainers, who had normal battles with you. I'll be happy with what we got.
