Dude, just grab guidebooks. They're very nice and well put together, with helpful charts and lists. And nice pictures. I always grab one for every generation, for tradition's sake.

My favorite is probably the B2W2 NatDex. Rundowns of every pokemon (at the time), learnsets, locations, breeding mechanics, competitive strats. I didn't have very reliable internet at the time and I couldn't just google everything, that book was a godsend.
