Just so you guys realise it, the pass for the Sevii island is called "Rainbow pass" so if we get that Kanto game this gen the Sevii islands will be replaced with Alola

The quality of dungeons in Alola was embarrassingly low though, the volcano for example didn't even let you go inside, the cave openings were just warps.

Victory road was also just a boring, empty tunnel. The only thing close to a 'dungeon' was Vast Poni Canyon, and even that was dull - basically just a long corridor without any puzzles, occasionally you need to push a block into a hole five feet further but that's it.

Oh man, Treasure Beach was the shit. I loved how items there and in Berry Forest would regenerate.

On the subject of FRLG and berries, I'd love to be able to play the multiplayer minigames sometime. Apparently you can get berries from them if you score high enough. I have two GBAs, but one of them is iffy with the connector points at times and I need another wireless adapter in order to be able to play them. I miss berry blending and I can't fix the clock on my copies of Sapphire and Emerald without a flashcart adaptor to load the saves onto to edit them after replacing the batteries.

Kanto needs to be revamped. Every route but especially those routes surrounding Saffron city have to be scaled out so the region can increase in size while still having the same general design. That area north of bills house can be an expanded part of the region as can the mountains north of pewter city. If they're include Johto then they can do the same to johto routes.

But we all know this is too much work for GF. We'll just get gen 4 Kanto 2.0 with less features, less content, and more bugs.

What about 3D sprites on a 2D world? You won't have to resprite every Pokemon each generation, and you can have simultaneously gorgeous and complex areas.

No, the problem is that Game Freak are too lazy. They spent a good 2 years on making Sun/Moon (probably even more than that since they had the B-team working on ORAS after X/Y was complete and pretty much all the modelling was done for X/Y anyway). But the games were still incomplete and still unoptimised. They have no real reason to make better games because they know everything they shit out and slap the Pokemon brand on will sell at least 10 million copies.

Naw, GF is just lazy/incompetent as fuck. It took till the end of the ds life to get those garbage animated sprites used in B/W. that shit could have been done on the gba possibly even the gbc if they put the effort in. It was just sprites bouncing and tweening constantly with no real animation. There were platformers and even a few fighters on gba that had more shit going at one time on screen than battles in B/W

As far as the 3d world they been using since gen 4, it just more laziness. Especially since gen 4 was full of gate houses separating the routes/cities. Scaling areas out to make the world seem bigger is basic shit that have been a part of jrpgs for the last 30 years, Yet here we are with a game released in 2016 full of empty towns, barely any enterable buildings, and a routes that teleports you almost a good quarter of the islands width to the next route(route12 to 13).
