Some of the less used characters from gen IV deserve some love. I get that the game designers love Cynthia and tbqh I love her too but she's not the only cool thing from that game. Seeing Volkner or Lucian for instance would be interesting.

I kinda want to see Gold/Ethan as a middle age (or old) hermit up atop a lush mountian. Doesn't even have to be a fight or a starter-giver. Just a house out in the middle of nowhere, with 16 badges in a case, and his old hat on his nightstand.

He'd just have the 3 starters' final evolutions wandering around his property.

Examining his stuff would trigger nods to gen 2 (and maybe HGSS) through dialogue.

"Oh, those old things? Yeah, back in the golden days I traveled quite a bit, even to other regions. Good times, they were."

"That hat? Used to wear it backwards as a kid to be 'hip'. Doesn't fit me anymore, but it's a comforting memory."
