The Arcanine and Piloswine are only unfortunate if you live in an area devoid of either, since their niche attackers. The Machamp is fine, Close Combat is still amazing. Tenacruel and Kingdra have too low of CP to be particularly useful, plus their roles are easily replaced by better Pokemon, so don't feel to bad about them. And the Espeon would be better off with Confusion, but nothing beats Future Sight.

If I'm inside not playing PoGo, I have a PC and multiple consoles with better videos game than Hanke's Google Maps walking emulator. What makes PoGo fun is going out to nice and sometimes new areas with friends or even alone to catch mons and enjoy the weather. I think spoofing would be fun at first because you'd get to easily max out everything and secure your 100 free coins but I don't get how the fun is sustained since you've cheated your way to the end of the game. I suppose that's where the autistic mentality of "I'm the best and will always be better than you" kicks in.

I only spoof to ensure I get 100 coins a day. Most days I don't even have to do anything, because the gyms I've found are well hidden or high level mystic.

I don't catch or go looking for Pokemon. I save this for legitimate walking. I don't even feel bad because I'm getting free coins that make the game slightly tolerable to play.

Secondly I exclusively target other spoofers (except while walking). It's mostly to join high level gyms (the fill slowly outside of the city). If anything I'm helping the casuals in my team, because I usually prestige the gym even after I've joined.

Will anyone care if I teleport around my city grabbing mons from the city scanner? What's the best way to go about this? Just grab one, wait 10 min then zip to the other side of the city to get another one, or what? Or should I just stay in one spot and just port to each one, then port back home before catching them? Both seem pretty tedious. If I'm just staying within my city and not going anywhere else I should be good yeah? How do y'all do it?

If I find a pokemon not already in my dex from legit play then I wont catch it (with the exception of an unown) and I dont interfere with gyms (unless its within range of my house and the weather is too shit to go outside) but desu I rarely spoof on account of how boring it makes the game. I do the same thing, but I'm Instinct so it's a little harder for me. I never attack hostile gyms; I find low Instinct gyms, stick a 'mon in them (or prestige first and then add one) and prestige the gym higher. It's pointless to try and fight off spoofers with 10+ accounts, so I stick to my own.

I have been in 3 gyms in my city for a solid 2 months

I have a short list of criteria that makes a gym long lasting

1. Unreachable by car
this is obviously the most important. Most people when taking gyms either drive or spoof so if you want to cut off all the drivers the gym cannot be accessible by car

2. Not near any indoors locations
Places like monuments on rivers or stadiums or other outdoor locations are also great places since it means that people have to walk or spoof to the location and cannot access it from the comfort of the indoors

3. Surrouded by Gyms of the same color
making sure the gym is in the middle of a territory controlled by one color is the third most important factor since people of the opposite colors will be less likely to make their way in just to take one level 10 gym in a sea of others that are on the fringe

I have placed myself into 3 Gyms that meet all 3 conditions and am looking for more around my city pretty frequently

Remote rural areas have become pleagued by spoofers looking to have solid gyms that will never flip and as such have become hotly contested by other spoofers, which I find very amusing. If the town is too big though it means that gyms are more likely to flip just to regular players and spoofers combined. You need a city of a specific size (roughly 75,000 people to 200,000 people) Where gyms can remain stable

Heracross: Only available in select regions but it can plow through Blissey with Counter/Close Combat.

Umbreon: Great all-around prestiger due to its low CP and immense bulk

Donphan: Could be solid gym fodder like Rhydon due to its high max CP but its movepool leave much to be desired.

That's about it. Won't be until gen 3 before we see some huge game-changers (Slaking, Metagross, Salamence, Gardevoir, Milotic).

I went home to visit my mother this weekend

she lives in a small town with a population of maybe 4,000 people

there are about 7 gyms across the whole town which is spread out along the shoreline of a lake

all 7 gyms have the exact same 3 accounts in them and in all gyms they have 3.5k Tyranitar, 3k+ Dragonite, 3k+ Blissy, 2.5k+ Snorlax

me and my brother went out and took down one of these gyms and, no exaggeration, within 3 min we had been kicked out and the exact same 3 accounts put in the pokemon we just beat

this is crazy. I never see things like this in the city I live in but in this small rural town the whole place is ruined because of 1 botter/spoofer

That's not the case for that Chansey earlier though, it seems like for her it's 1 attack IV = 5 defense IV

because the formula for CP is (attack)*sqrt(defence)*sqrt(hp)*(cp_multiplier^2)/10

every pokemon has different stats. chansey has very low attack, average defence and very high hp.
in her case, having 500 hp or 515 in the best case doesn't make a huge difference.
on the other hand, the difference between 60 (0 IV) and 75 attack (15 IV) boosts her attack and thus CP quite a bit.
so a point in attack matters like 4-5 points in defence of hp. that's also why you want to evolve a high attack IV chansey.
