What do you think Pokemon-Human relations are like in Alola? I mean the culture there seems to hold them up to be more like equals as opposed to other regions. Pic related, the Totem system doesn't seem like it'd work if not for the co-operation of the Pokemon and that the trials rely on said Totem Pokemon where the Trial Caption is merely a guide.

You answered your own question.

I suppose but I'd like to discuss it in depth with /vp/, perhaps we could reach some new conclusions from it. I was planning to have the question be a topic we could springboard into a more intricate discussion of the mechanisms and functioning of the Pokemon world.

with the exception of sinnoh.

They fug their Pokemon. Olivia likes to get naughty with her Lyncanroc and Pokemon like Primarina, Lurantis, Salazzle and Tsareena are often used by male trainers.
Is this the answer you're looking for, then?

I disagree with that as, historically Sinnoh might've treated them more equally, it would appear that (perhaps do to outside influence the region has adopted a similar stance as the other regions; and as such the old ways have been relegated to that of myths.

You do have a point. But I honestly didn't see the connection between the pokemon and the trainers being any more meaningfull than that of other regions. Remember in those people live with pokemon and do day-to-day activities with them, like training, building, playing sports, or even walking around.
Alola seemed just as good as other regions in regards to pokemon treatment

Oh I never meant to imply that other regions mistreat Pokemon in any way (at least the non-criminal aspects of them) or the Trainer-Pokemon aspect (as that seems to be a constant regardless of region). But rather that on a societal level Pokemon could be said to have more 'power' in the Alolan society.
