There's a couple reasons unrelated to my mom.
I see grass mons are pretty peaceful pokemon that don't like confrontation and like some peace of quiet. I'm a bit of an introvert and have always loved forests and hiking, even though i'm usually pretty lazy i love exploring forest paths. I always thought if i were a pokemon i'd be a vileplume or a leafeon. Maybe even a deerling since deers are my favorite animal.
Grass is also my favorite type.
I also added fairy because i can be kind of bitchy and spiteful and felt that fairy (which in old fairy tails they're not the nice helpful pixies we think of them as today) fit better than poison which i used to do before gen 6 when thinking of myself as a pokemon.
