Serebii's site layout is ugly so I never go there. Bulbapedia (species info) and /vp/ (new events) are all I need for Pokemon news.

I don't use bulbapedia as much as serebii because the Pokemon page layouts on bulba are ass and I've seen too much vandalism to care anymore.
I use serebii for convenience on news and new games (since everything is simple and already laid out).
I use PokemonDB for stats, since smogon takes a bit longer to load.
I use Pokebeach for the TCG.

Regardless, I did say I dislike the asinine page layout on bulba's pokemon pages so even there wasn't vandalism then I'd still prefer other sources. Not to say I've never used bulba, just that there are better ones.

I've always wished another website would pop up and give Serebii and Bulbapedia some proper competition so they would be forced to fix their mess.

I remember a while back some German web designer made a thread advertising the layout of his new site. The site had a beautiful layout, but the owner had no plan beyond "make it a clone of PokemonDB, except prettier". Shame.

The joke is that iOS (arguably the last super revolutionary thing they did as a company) is the reason WHY coloured boxes with a simple image inside is the standard way to arrange a touchscreen interface.

Serebii is best for new game information and Pokearth. Smogon is best for checking base stats and movesets. Bulbapedo is best for pretty much everything else.

It's a one man show. He does go back to fix things but people may need to prod him about it. Some older games do have bad sections but it's not as bad as you make out. His site is still more reliable than Bulbapedia. Bulbapedia had the wrong stats for the Pikachu with Ash's Cap for 4 months before someone fixed it.
