Start her with Red/Blue/Yellow. Fuck FRLG, it's simpler, cuter, and more entry level. Girls will be fine with it.

FireRed and LeafGreen. Kanto is an easy region to traverse and most non-fans only know about Kantomons. The games are also pretty simple as far as battling goes. Another game I'd suggest as a runner up is Sun and Moon because it's easy to learn Type matchups that way.
