The creature Absol is based on is said to be bovine or sheep like in body with a humanoid face. While Absol itself has a mix of feline features with strange reptilian "paws" and of course a humanoid face.
It's like the Legendary Beasts in that it's a mix, so at most it's a mammal, but could only be called a beast.

I'm inclined to agree, since I hate a lot of cartoon canids and felids. Also dog fans finally got their wolf-thing (Lycanroc, particularly the bland Day form) so I'm sure that it's enough for now.
Except for Skitty. Delcatty sucks ass but Skitty lacks the snout and eyes that I despise on most of the ones in your pic, so it gets a pass.
