anyone who isn't aware of you having a hurdle jump and moves next to your scout is bound to

a) fight it out or risk it walking into the goal (this is why Eons and greninja are mostly the ones used for this, they have good dodge, without wait like Squirtle does)
b) block it's way with their own hurdle jump and give up the entry point for a while (this is the main use for diving entry early in the game, and why people start with the birds, just in case)

c) use goal block early (fags)

What do you think? Shelgons make good defenders and +MP will only make them better, plus can evolve, Marwiles have Trickery, the largest segment, which is blue and allows me to choose to whether to basically get away scot free or roll over to a 70 (or 90 in gym) attack. Sligoo is just so I'll have a 3MP defender if necessary. I really want a Reshiram obvs. Also I have 2 Jigglypuffs ready for another, but I do want to see how the Mawiles run.

Metagross got knocked out by his Zapdos when it rolled Bullet Punch, which in turn got knocked out by my Gardevoir when it rolled Steel Wing. Managed to knock out two of the Renuniclus while Metagross was still on the field, which helped tremendously.
It ended up back on the bench because the single Reuniclus kept on trying to knock out what I had on his entry point (which I just back onto when I pushed a figure up and eventually it got cycled back to the bench.

You don't. That's the nature of these sort of games, you languish if you weren't there at the start or get really unlucky with your boosters (unless you're a whale who wants to throw money at the game until you're vaguely caught up, except even then, the rotating draws from boosters limits that somewhat).

That's not to say you can't do anything with a weak team. For giggles, I threw together an all-ground team with only one rare, the rest commons or uncommons, and have won eight of my nineteen matches with it (2200s - 1800s brackets). Luck with attacks and better positioning can trump over a better team, you just need considerably more than if you had a strong team, due to not having as many win states during fights and having fewer options for positioning.

Basically, you just need to get used to being disadvantaged. You either give up, or just keep playing anyway, doing your dailies and saving up, hoping for luck to swing your way.

Also, the game doesn't even look at your team, just your rating. Since you're still fairly low rated, as long as you pay smart, your rating will keep going up regardless of your team, because you're playing fellow newbs and people who are kinda bad at the game.

Lads, what do? Is it me, or my internet? Even just moving a Pokemon on the first turn usually takes 5 seconds.

I like duel, but it's getting annoying to have the timer against me every game. Recently won a game via timer win on 1 second left. My opp had somehow eclipsed me in time left even though my moves during midgame were basically just methodical goal blocking or moving up to try to break through his goalie. Had to use fucking Carlo to get my time back and barely won by the skin of my teeth.

How is my team line up?

I just have Articuno thrown in because I'm not sure what else I could put in. I know I need a gold unit and have both Mew and Greninja, but those two have been really unreliable for me so far.

Zweilous is good. Roar can win games. Don't forget displacing your opponent lets you evolve. It also counts itself for its ability.
Deino is the deck's weak point. You need to run at least one if you want to stay on curve, but it's an MP2 that only hits for 40, which forces you to run X Attack/Desperate.

The only time freeze is better than sleep is when you're trying to take out their goal keeper. Otherwise imo it's better to just put things to sleep and leave them there.
