So I was in my town Saturday night, and I notice a guy with two level 3000 Tyranitars in different gyms. That by itself was suspicious as we get very few Larvitar spawns here.

So I go on our local FB page and the dude flips out, says he is training for a half marathon, hatched 4 Larvitar, and then buddy walked the rest of the candies.

When you break down the math, to get two high level Tyranitars from hatching you need about 350-370 candies. Assuming he may have got around 100 candies from the 4 eggs, you still need 260 more candies. That is 1300 kms in 15 days, 86 kms a day, or 53 miles walked a day.

So even ignoring the fact that running causes the app to speed lock, I guess I am to believe he was training for a half marathon by running two full marathons a day?

So as we all know that people think that there will be a live event to catch LEGENDARIES (like in trailer). Which is cool for all city players, but sucks for rural players. I have got 2 different ideas which may sound similar to some. I will only post one right now!!! So I think a LEGENDARY spawn should depend on the player using an item(Fire feather, Ice feather, Thunder feather) which you either acquire from a pokestop (super super super rare) or by completing the POKEDEX (with regionals). Ones you have that, it's only have of the work. The next half is related to gym. You need to be at the top tier of 3 level 10 gyms which should form a triangle ( like in Ingress). Then you go the centre and use the feather which would like summon a LEGENDARY Pokemon depending on your feather. You battle it and capture it(or just capture it, MASTERBALL!!!). Now, this needs some prerequisites... * Spoofers need to be controlled * Requires teamwork, you need your mates to be like guarding the gym while you form the triangle and battle *Being High level and a complete Dex. Dude it's a LEGENDARY, either book a flight or get someone to trade. Now you may say, that rural players have a disadvantage. They don't have gyms and pokestop. I say, the LEGENDARIES are a big aspect of the game. Someone will have to compromise. And you can always travel. This game is meant so people travel and explore. I have one more idea but I will talk about that later.

So I just got a warning saying that they've detected the use of prohibited apps on my account. The only thing I use is a 3rd party tracker (it uses a dummy account) to scan around my house to see if anything spawns since I only have 1 pokestop nearby so more often than not I have no point of the in-game tracker, AND a IV calculator that calculates from capturing your screen. I'd rather Niantic sell 6/9 use incubators in the shop and have 3 use incubators be found sometimes at PokeStops. Tack on an infinite incubator with the 10 Level milestones, and you're golden. Rewards players for leveling up and exploring while also facilitating the arduous grind for better mons that you probably won't find in your biome.

Also I'd like an item (Purchase only or super rare, whatever) that doubles the rate of egg hatching. Things are starting to warm up now, but there's no way in hell I'm going to walk 10km in winter just to play a game. Gym/treadmill compatablility wouldn't be bad either, but that's asking for too much

I am lucky to have my hands on a 90%+ IV Blissey with pound/hyperbeam. I threw her in a gym today in a high traffic area I can watch from my home and she sat there all day as the gym sat at level 1. I saw the gym being attacked, but the gym prestige has not moved nor has my blissey been booted yet. This Pokémon is going to ruin people's will to fight in gym battles and is going to drastically hurt the casual playerbase.

People need to stop being selective in what they label cheating. You may not like it, I definitely don't, but according to ToS using a 3rd party IV calculator IS technically cheating and therefore you can be banned.

If your using third party apps that are against the TOS, then you risk being banned. Use Pokegene or Calcy IV or online calculators or something that dosnt break the TOS and you will be fine

It's nothing new they already were flagging people for logging in their credentials in a third party application. If the reports long ago were
accurate, people who logged in to those third party sites got caught with the spoofers and got banned. Niantic reverted those bans but they reiterated their stance on third party tools using credentials.

the key words are "accessing your account". this refers to IV calc apps that you give your login creds to so it can go into your account and read your pokemon inventory. the issue is that their system can detect activity that may not be consistent with a human player's actions, such as the IV calc app gathering information on the pokemon in your account.
before i think it was just a medium soft ban (4 to 24 hours) that was used when this kind of app use was detected. a friend of mine couldn't log in for about 12 hours during a ban-wave, likely because he tried such an app about 6 weeks prior - now it looks like their explaining their actions, but by virtue of issuing written warnings, they can move on to perma-bans and can't say that you weren't warned.
this does not apply to apps that you take give a screenshot to or you enter pokemon information manually. as long as you don't give the app your pokemon login creds, you should be fine.
