Fighting just feels like... fighting? It doesn't give off the "good guys" feel. At least not as much as Fairy does. When I see Fairy-type, nothing really bad comes to mind. Just happy shit. As opposed to Fighting, which just paints the image of someone being punched in my mind.

Fighting is associated with superheroes and strong, macho hero characters to most.
Not saying that's what you have to feel about it, just that the typical image of fighting is seen as such in fan media and move/ability descriptions (e.g. many fighting types get Justified).
