I didn't think it was nearly as good as last gen, to be completely honest. I like that I don't have to wear a hat now, even though I do still wear a hat.

From all the polls and rate threads, the reception was generally pretty positive. People liked it from what I saw, and regarded it as solid but not the absolute best as the average opinion.

There are quite a few "boxart" threads up on most days where one guy samefags and screeches insults at people though, try and avoid those.

Dude, just say it. The changes GF made from gen 6 were outright bad.
From the removal of the PSS and everything with it to the lack of a quick EV/HA method.

The story mode was pretty enjoyable. I enjoyed the change to trial challenges instead of gyms, and a lot of the new Pokémon are really well designed. I didn't even mind the plot itself, although the pacing could have been better.

It has its flaws. There's very little post game content, and Gen VI's better features (PSS and DexNav being the big ones) were removed, as Game Freak is wont to do. All in all, though, I'd say I enjoyed it.

i agree, those two were the most glaring issues i saw when i got the game

the use of the rotomdex/lower screen would've been much better with the PSS + the super training we had, i'm not very much fussed about friend safaris but they were a very solid addition that was eliminated for no reason

that said im happy they kept pokemon amie, but i miss the mini-games from the original iteration, and i miss the random shitters challenging you to battles on PSS so you could crush them with proper teams
