Fire Emblem Heroes allows you to save a few teams, why shouldn't Pokémon? It's not just the scrolling down that's the problem, it's just that y ou have to literally edit each of your six spots.

It'd also be an improvement if they just gave you a blank team to begin with, that way you can just choose like two or three mons to prestige with.

For those of you who play with your family, there must be this moment when you caught the first Lapras in months while your brother's ran away.

Now that we know trading is definitely coming, there is no need to be jealous of your wife's son's army of hatched Snorlax while you have none anymore! Every Pokemon that only one of you caught or hatched is kind of a shared property, like family socialism!

Lawrence, my stepson, has hatched 4 Snorlax since the start, while I only have some wild catches with poor IV. But I have hatched 2 Lapras and he has none. We have already signed trade deals to make this situation even, which is exciting!

And the expectation for the full glory of /pgg/ is making this future even brighter. I really think this game and this community are going to create a magical experience for us along the way.

I used a similar method I'd seen in /pgg/ that I only just set up today, add a symbol to the start of your prestigers and they'll appear at the top of your list when you sort A-Z

Im live in a dessert/mountain biome and it's the first Larvitar-family pokemon that I see. Could I expect to see more of the family in my area? So to all fellow ruralfags, do you have at least one good spawnpoint in your village/small town?

I live in the latter with about 2k inhabitants. 8 pokestops with all but one of them having garbage spawns (3 are too far so almost nobody goes there anyways). The mentioned one is next to a small park and from time to time spawns something semi- useful, e.g. it just spawned a Chikorita. There is also a smaller river that spawns 95% of the time two garbage water mons, but sometimes something actually good like a Kabuto.

I am going to be visiting Las Vegas for two or three days soon. What are the best spots in the city for rare spawns or just for those pokemon who are not common?

Looking for opinions here. Would unlimited safari balls with a lowered catch rate, say 50% of a red pokeball, be enough to help rurals play the game? They'd probably be suitable only for super commons, due to everything escaping-- for any reliability rurals would still need to purchase red pokeballs to catch an important pokemon. I'm a suburban player, so this idea wouldn't benefit me at all, but I can't help but think that rurals have a pretty raw deal. I'd like to think about how to improve the game outside of cities.

Fsu_atl on YouTube actually teleports to a location, taps on the mon he wants and then goes back to his home location where he catches the mon. This way they can't tell he is a spoofer at Niantic. They can detect if spoofers spin stops or catch mon in a teleported location. Let's hope this loophole is closed soon

this is hell, how do you guys play this game?

There is a LOT of anger directed toward GPS spoofers in this game. I see it in the social media groups I'm part of, I see it on here.

It occurred to me recently that some of the people I know who are MOST vehement against GPS spoofers have consistently been using trackers and scanners for the entire time they've been playing.

My proposition is this: If you have a) Used a scanner b) Caught a decent pokemon through the use of said scanner that you would not have caught otherwise AND either c) Specifically put that pokemon onto Gyms or d) Have caught so many pokemon using scanners that you have no way of telling any more whether you have put them onto gyms or not


You are just as much of a cheater, that is, you have used means outside of the TOS to give yourself a material advantage over other players.

Obviously spoofing is far worse than using maps. You get a greater advantage by spending money than you do from using a map.
Even Niantic recently described maps as a "shortcut", not cheating. Their justification for trying to get rid of maps was it caused an undue server load, not because it's against TOS

To be fair imagine a world without any scanners. A ton of spoofing would be cut down, or at least the most effective type of spoofing would be eliminated.
There are scanners out there that post 100% IV mons as soona s they spawn and their gps coords. Even just a city scanner like boston or new york or las vegas (I believe most large cities have a scanner active) showing these spawns.
Without them, the best you could do is spoof to a city and sort of wander around looking for them. I guess spoofing would still be common, but the effectiveness of spoofing would drop tremendously from where it now stands.

There's the possibility that CP doesn't constitute who sits where on the totem poll, but our level and/or Pokémon level dictate where we sit. This does make more sense to a degree. If we attack the gyms as we do now, then maybe the lowest level Pokémon gets knocked out instead of the lowest CP, tie goes to CP or trainer level, or some combination thereof.

Add an actual battle system beyond tap, dodge, hold. Mobile games have been past that for years. Use some of the wasted real estate on the screen for more moves. I think there are different reasons for gym stagnation. I used to take down level 10 gyms for fun. Since I started playing again when gen 2 came out, I simply don't have the potions for "fun" battling. All of my potions are used just to get pokemon back in gyms, and that has only been like 2 gyms a day

Personally I would like to see something like the Elite Four in the original game.
Each defender would have 6 pokémon, not just 1, and the defender would switch pokémon to counter yours, and you are allowed to use your potions and revives to heal your team before battling the next trainer.
If you defeated all trainers in the friendly gym they would choose you to lead them, so you pile it on the become the topmost trainer of the gym.
If a rival defeats a trainer, the defender would be kicked out of the gym.
There would be no max gym level, players can pile up forever as long as their bag space allows.
Being in higher position in a gym would mean more daily reward (more coins and dust)
Players then need to consider the synergy between their pokémon as well. For example when they put their pokémon in, they should cover the weaknesses of their pokémon with a different kind of pokémon.

We desperately need a new system to determine a pokemon's rank in a gym and/or how rewards are earned from gyms. CP dominance has shrunk the metagame down to just seven viable defenders and local dominance by one team makes the gyms too difficult for lower level players to interact with.

An idea I've been toying with lately is to go to NPC-controlled gyms. The competitive element of controlling a gym by capturing it would be replaced with a leaderboard, and the colour of a gym is determined by who's atop the leaderboard. You could get more points for fighting the gym with lower-CP mons, just as we do with prestiging now. Coins would be distributed by your performance in the battle.

It doesn't appear for every trainer that is holding a gym, however there is someone I know I have beaten before but it doesn't have any "Battles Won" showing up on him in this particular gym.

I usually mass evolve as soon as I get to around 85 pokemon ready for evolution. Holding off indefinitely though. Still have plenty of storage.

I'm saving pidgeys, weedles and caterpies until a double XP event. I'll save them until July until the 1 year anniversary, sure they will have a double XP event on that day if they haven't already had one by then. Before the prices went up 25% in the App Store I had spent about £80 on this game. I refused to spend a penny more after the price rise and I still haven't. When I was leveling I wasn't dealing with Lvl10 spoofed Gyms. My nephew is. I don't understand how at Lvl20 he is taking out the bottom 3 and it goes right back up to Lvl10 and no one is prestiging.

I have heard OSM influences POGO. I am starting to wonder if that explains my local situation. I have been to a number of lakes around here, and the pokestops for all of them spawn water biome pokes. All of them that is, except the one lake within walking distance. It has a pokestop, which is about 10 feet from the water's edge and even has the word "Lake" in the name, but it never, ever spawns a water poke.

What makes Wigglytuff special as a Prestiger is its absurdly high HP combined with a low Defense stat and moderately good Attack stat. The CP formula is based on multiplying Attack, Defense, and HP together, not their sum. If you take two Pokemon with the same base stat total (Attack + Defense + HP), the one that is closer to having Attack = Defense = HP will usually have higher CP. On the other hand, one that is very strong in only one not-Attack stat (because Attack is over weighted in the formula) will have much lower CP, despite having roughly the same combat performance.
