I'm liking SM so far, in fact maybe the most out of any series startup besides maybe the OS. The characters are so wonderfully expressive, the battles have been good with a use of good animation and decent strategy in place, and the slapstick, though maybe a bit overused, is fun to watch. Ash's redesign is a bit odd, though I can't hate it. The level of expressiveness just makes him so loveable this series, and the emotions are a nice breath of fresh air from XY's generically strong willed Ash.

Heh, I checked the pokeshipping tumblr and half the anon's are sending in messages how disappointed they are that Misty isn't in the trailer, and many of them are fearing she's not in it at all.

Personally I'm indifferent on the matter and won't mind if Misty or Brock are in it, but seeing Pokeshippers suffer like this is too good to pass up. I don't get why everyone views SM so negatively. SM is very entertaining. The animation is a pleasure to watch (it's so fluid!). Ash is back to being a goofy, overly excitable young boy, yet at the same time, he hasn't lost any of his competence as a Trainer. The other main characters show promise, especially Lillie (I'm really looking forward to her character development).

The best thing about gym battles was we got almost an entire episode devoted to non stop battling, so these major SM battles being so short is a major disappointment. Gym battles, at least in XY, are on average around ~14 minutes long from start to end. So yeah, the Hala battle should've been 5-6 minutes longer. That's a very significant amount of time lost when it comes to battles.

The blame on this is entirely on Matsui though, as she chose to waste away that time on some useless praying in SM10.
