They are a major source of power creep. OU is genies, Tapu, UB, Zapodos, Cresselia (Who is RU for some reason) and Heatran central. UU has recently become /mlp/ and pixie mon central. While all legendaries aren't broken, they are still just as or more powerful than the average fullied Evolved mon. There are like 6 legendaries now. Surely that's enough to make three tiers of only legendary battles.

I know this is probably a joke, but Game Freak is too busy filling the gaps that blur the line between Ubers and OU to bother making more than 1 or 2 things per generation that are at or above Mega Fug's level. You'd need a major mechanics change and a laser-targetted nerf to bring Mega Fug out of his heavenly abode.
