We have had retcons in the series since fucking Gen 2, from typing to visuals, and everything inbetween. But entire games and events were never retconned out of existence unless it was specifically being replaced by a remake.

Even in the "Mega Timeline", everything in Gen 1-5 still happened, just in a world with Mega Evolution.

What's up with people praising Sinnoh and bashing Unova lately? I don't really get the meme that Unova only liked here when I've seen the exact opposite with most people on other websites being split on liking or disliking gen V. Personally if they had done like B/W2 and had an equal balance of old and new mons and tone down the story a bit (but nowhere near X/Y levels of retarded) it probably wouldn't get so unfairly bashed so much. At the very worst its just a meh, nowhere near the worst games to come out of the series. And B/W2 are pretty good one their own.

It's the usual cycle. Back during Gen V, there was overwhelming irrational hatred on /vp/ for Gen III. During Gen VI, people whined about Gen IV. Now we're at the stage in the cycle where the Gen V haters are screaming. Also, if the existence of a new timeline means Unova no longer exists, then maybe Kanto, Johto and Sinnoh (the OTHER pre-XY regions) don't exist anymore either. Or maybe they're somehow exempt from that logic because they're some of your favorite regions, and the only real reason you're saying Unova doesn't exist is because you really don't want it to.

Unova is canon. The events of BW and B2W2 happened. The events in the new timeline are probably slightly different from in the old timeline, but they still took place. Deal with it.
