Greninja was in Smash before the anime. Charizard was the only one of Ash's starters to fully evolve because it was popular. Blaziken was popular despite not being Sceptile being more shilled in the anime.

The anime does contribute though. It's the main reason Sceptile became popular, Piplup became popular or A-Greninja even became a thing. But saying all of it is just the anime's influence is just wrong.

Nah, the results are fair. I thought they cheated because the poll looked like this for the first 10k-ish votes and then suddenly Rowlet got to 70%, but it's probably just Twitter messing up and updating the poll in a wrong way.
