Should I watch the XY series? Is it any good?

Keep in mind I've never watched an episode of the anime before and when I tried to watch the movies, specifically the Hoopa and Diancie movies, I got annoyed and bored real quickly.

The interview translation is not 100% right though: Serena 100% kissed Ash, the director confirmed it and explained the entire scene and why he wanted to end it like that, so there's no denying that whatsoever, but some people are saying the director somehow said "Ash and Serena will become a couple (and have a child in March or something)" when the only thing he said was "I wanted to end it like this, that way, fans who wanted Ash and Serena to become a couple later can be satisfied" so he's basically trying to say he did this so fans can at least be satisfied with the kiss even though they won't canonically become a couple, like with every Pokégirl.
Aside from that, the interview didn't just talk about the whole anime process, it also compared XY and XY&Z to Best Whishes, and I'm surprised they didn't even mention that in the english "translation"...
Long story short, before you actually go into believing "Twitter and Youtube", do some research of your own, possibly find someone who can actually speak Japanese and possibly is not an shipper (so you'll be 100% sure he didn't slightly change the translation)
