4th gen was my favorite, mostly because I found a lot of my friends during those years and I finally had people to share the series with, and could finally do multi-player stuff with, since i never had a link cable. Getting events, getting to see the prerelease speculation for Gen IV and eventually Gen V, meeting a lot of my favorite mons, Gen IV just had a lot of stuff to do and nostalgia is a powerful drug.
