What's everybody working on, currently?
I've finally gotten to the actual layouts of towns and placing tiles. So far, my towns are cozy as fuck!
>>31903825
Tilesets. Considering learning python to make base stat editing a little easier by exporting/importing data to .csv and back. Any tips?

welp
All i''ve ever wanted to do with a romhack is one where all IV's are set to 31. Is there a way to do that?
I expanded the amount of Pokemon in Fire Red using Gen 3 Hacking Suite. One of them was Mega Beedrill. When I get Beedrill to evolve into it (normally, too new to add stones), it'll simply act as if I pressed B. I never did.
>>31906458
Good shit.
>>31903825
i've been making a pokedex for a while. i'm about to start actually messing around with modding software to see about turning the dex into a game. thinking about doing a hgss hack because it has a good mix of ease and versatility? i'd love to do a gen5 type hack but i don't think there are as many resources? very new to this.
>>31906458
looks very functional. animations look good. i'm not crazy about your designs necessarily. do you have a link to them all?
Bimp
Currently playing around with pokecrystal disassembly. Any link of all the bugs in crystal i should fix first before starting a hack?
Just wanna try and survey this as someone curious
What is your opinion on

RMXP is on sale very frequently on Steam for super reasonable prices. Failing that, you can find it online for free if you know where to look but you may struggle to get it working properly without a crack.
>>31910213
>>Having Megas in the first place
I like the idea, but let's not give it to silly shit like Psuedos and Legends
>>Having Z-Moves in the first place
Good concept, poor execution imo.
>>fakemon
Not good most of the time.
>>fanon region forms
As long as it's not something stupid like 'lol biggachu is now dark/dragon because lol'
>>fanon Megas
Like I said, No psuedos or megas, but it should be good.
>>non-Pokemon boss fights
What, like a mecha or beating up some hobo with your bees and aliens? Sounds kinda dumb.
>>typing retcons
As long as it's not something dumb like I said above.
>>new types
Eww.
Has the guy doing the spicy ketchup romhack quit?
>>31903772
Has anyone remade the Pokemon series where NPC's and Trainers are Pokemon and Pokemon are NPC's and Trainers?
>>31910213
All of these are turn offs for me. To be honest, I absolutely hate gen 6 and z moves, so most of that stuff I don't like in even in the main games, fairy included
>>31910586
God I hate faggots like you.
You sterile, unimaginative fuck. Just stick to official Gamefreak games then. Get the fuck out of this thread. Also, fuck your stepmother with your father's AIDs dick.
>>31910723
Ahhh yes, truly a correct opinion, I see you're an intellectual like me.
I mean just look at this fine piece of art, now this is something you won't find in a Gamefreak game, no way jose! These creative and unique megas and fakemon truly elevate fangames to another level than those boring, sterile main games! Gosh, if only every Pokemon fangame was stuffed full of zany Pokemon like this, that would be so much fun!
I'm thinking about making an Edzge (Name of my region) Forme Cubone where theres blood coming out of the skull...
Anyone else here like Reborn and Zeta Omicron by the way?
Catch you on the flipside, fellow Poke-hacker!
>>31910780
Played a fair way into Z/O versions. They're a couple of my personal favorites, but so far I'd say Fusion Generation takes the win for me. Just wish there was proper controller support.
>>31910780
That wasn't an invitation to a conversation, fuccboi.
>wahhhh no one should be creative because I am a grey, bland, piece of shit single child with all the imagination of a braindead lobster.
How about another one of those classic Firered remakes, you cunt? THAT was an invitation to a conversation.
P.s. How fucking dare you come to /heg/, a fucking thread for making fanmade games, and try to impose some sort of rubric. As I said, leave the thread. This isn't for your kind of people (read:cunts)
P.s. P.s. How's that AIDs dick feeling?
Fuck you
-Anon
>>31910966
Dude, the guy asked for opinions, the person you're replying to gave his. Can we just have a /heg/ without someone getting needlessly dramatic and cross?
>>31910213
>Having Megas in the first place
I'm ambivalent, but I wouldn't miss their absence, honestly.
>Having Z-Moves in the first place
I barely use them as-is, I wouldn't notice their absence at all.
>fakemon
If they're done well it can be fresh and exciting to play through a region with new Pokemon, but when it's a mixed dex it always feels a little weird imo, and they can be really stupid sometimes -- but I still generally enjoy games that take the extra effort to make their own dex, if only as a breather from the mainline games.
>fanon region forms
I can see this being an avenue for really dumb ideas, but I'm not inherently against them -- and unlike Megas no one's limited to just one per team. I think people could get really creative with it.
>fanon Megas
New Megas have the potential to wind up 3edgy5me, but they can also be a great way to make an older Pokemon useful and fun to play with again.
>non-Pokemon boss fights
On one hand that could be really stupid, but on the other hand I can't deny that I was disappointed withnot being able to fight Lusamine directly at the end of SM.I can see why they'd be useful for plot reasons as well -- I think in the right circumstances they can have their place.
>typing retcons
I don't mind them. Dragon/Grass Serperior in Blaze Black/Volt White was a fun experience.
>new types
Ehhh, I've seen them done badly, and they're hard to do well -- but I'm not outright against them, I just think they have to be used carefully and sparingly to make them fit into the established typechart without unbalancing things in favor of the new type (or making the new type as useless as poison offense.)
>>31910966
>>31910586 and >>31910780 are two different people
>>31904078
any tips on what? learning python or how to handle the csv?
>>31910966
>when you see a buttmad anon using your go to insult.
>>31910594
Probably. I've seen that kind of thread show up plenty of times, they receive 200+ demands, implement like 10 of them and then quit without even releasing anything.
>>31909582
I know at least some of the bugs are commented in the source code.
http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_glitches_in_Generation_II
This probably isn't comprehensive but it should be a start.
>>31910213
>Having Megas in the first place
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
>Having Z-Moves in the first place
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
>fakemon
Wouldn't it get stagnant if no games did this?
>fanon region forms
Why not?
>fanon Megas
Why not?
>non-Pokemon boss fights
Why not?
>typing retcons
If you keep it balanced and clear, sure.
>new types
If you keep it balanced and clear, sure.
I don't really have many opinions on feature themselves. It's all about implementation.
>>31911194
Moreso handling the .csv. I have it reading the base stat data properly now, I just need to export it and then be able to rewrite it.
>>31912555
I am not a hacking guy but I can probably help you with the script if you tell me what the input and output files look like and if there are certain conditions to fullfill.
someone here into music hacking for frlg? can you somehow extend the note limit on DirectSound/GbSynth?
Is there any prebuilt Umbra Moon CIA yet?
Can you easily extract from the .3ds made for Citra with ctrtool?
Is there and option to change .sna save to .sav or anything an android emulator will launch?
>>31910213
>Having Megas in the first place
I don't mind them, but the implementation in hacks especially tends to be really clumsy and unpolished (not to mention glitchy.)
>Having Z-Moves in the first place
As long as they avoid the pitfalls I see in Megas I don't have a problem.
>fakemon
I tend to be wary, but if they're good I won't complain.
>fanon region forms
I am far less wary of these, because you already have a good base so they're less likely to be god-awful.
>fanon Megas
Same as region forms.
>non-Pokemon boss fights
Totally fine.
>typing retcons
Annoys me. I am fine with alternately typed forms, but changing the type of existing Pokemon is the laziest way to customise a Pokemon. Obviously if you're adding new types, this is less annoying.
>new types
I normally hate these, but not because I don't want any more types, just because there aren't many good fanmade types imo.
What gba rom would you recommend guys? Already playing Light Platinum, but looking for something different. Would love all the pokemons obtainable (doesnt matter which generations), cool story, not unfinished, no fakemons
How do I get an Aurora Ticket in Fire Red, if I'm playing the GBA VC on a CFW 3DS??
