Make it Grass/Fire and give it a Fire STAB move, so a venus fly trap can actually be super effective against bug types.

Honestly, I'd like Carnivine to have more bulk. +20 in HP, Def and SpD and it'd be even better in doubles. I used a Carnivine in VGC16 on a Primal Kyogre team and it was great. A bit more difficult to use than, say, Amoonguss, but the Ground and Fire immunity was great against Primal Groudon.
