Which one should I buy? X or Y?

Y makes more sense for the story, but I personally prefer X's mascot legendary.

Y also lets you grab a Pupitar about halfway through whereas X gives you Lairon.

Neither

They're both pretty bad to be honest. If you really, really have to get a Gen 6 game, get ORAS, they're a little less shit.

Just look up version exclusives and take your pick.

So there's your answer, get Y and don't play the inferior X.
