There's potential, but it can easily go south.

It was the night before Christmas in the Johto region. The houses glowing with their marvelous decorations, the hearths as warm and soothing as the embers of Magby and a jolly cloud covering the air. Happy families dining, the lights around the region shining, with no sign of any despair.

But alas, not all families were so glad. A good few poor families, all moody and sad. Their Christmas filled with gloom, caused by poverty and an undecorated room. "Does Santa not love me?", asked little Timmy with a tear on his face. The father remained silent, as he dared not to tell about his disgrace. The night was young, yet little Timmy went to bed. A gloomy room, the father fled.

He looked at the sky, with his wet eye. "Please, Original One. Grant me just one wish. One happy Christmas, with happy children and a delicious dish." As the night sky fell, the father upset, unknowing what his family was about to get.

A loud sound played outside, like a jingle of joy. A Crystal Delibird, making sure this Christmas was one to enjoy. The family rushed outside with smiles on display. No longer did their Christmas look quite so grey. Little Timmy received an expensive toy, his face showing unbreakable joy. The mother received many decorations and lights, so that even her house can glow these Christmas nights. The father got a delicious feast, even luxury meals from the far east! But most importantly, the family got their merry Christmas this year, thanks to a Crystal Delibird which they now hold dear!

I assume it's loosely inspired by the Crystal Onix from the anime and the other random Crystal Pokemon the TCG had during the e-card era. It's a neat enough gimmick.

A few of the megas look cool. The rest fit right in with the bad official Megas. Mega Shaymin is just atrocious. Ampharos is the only Crystal Pokemon that doesnt look absolutely trashy. They look like those shitty limited edition toys that are covered in clear plastic filled with sparkles. Cosmic and Mystic seem super redundant with Psychic still existing, as you can see with all the Psychic pokemon being split between the two. Light and Sound are a bit less autistic than the other three, but not by much.
They say they're adding more types to mix the gameplay up. Adding more types does not mix the gameplay up in the slightest. Adding actual new mechanics would mix the gameplay up, like new battle structures. Things like triple battles are rotation battles are cool. Do stuff like that. Not more types.

>Because it's not normal Crystals. Crystal is merely what refers to a unique ancient power that benefits many Pokémon through Crystallization. The type consists of an energy that solidifies into a crystalline forme, this being why it is known as Crystal.
So seriously, what is the fucking difference between the ancient powers of Crystal as compared to Mystic powers or even fucking Cosmic powers? You have four types now that are all completely redundant and have overlapping pokemon out the ass because of how similar they are.
Some of the new custom Pokemon look nice. Some look bad. Some look ripped straight from other sources. The regional variants are all shit and only exist to further promote their shitty fanfiction types.
Some of the item concepts seem cool. I like the idea of Porygon Z mega evolving with a disc rather than a stone. Some seem completely fucking broken, like the Great Shield letting people use Protect twice in a row, or the Crystal Hammer letting your pokemon always be super effective against Crystal pokemon.

This autism triggered my own autism way too hard.
