do I need to put in a specific trainer/location/date met? if so, which ones? No matter what I do, it always says "unable to match to a mystery gift in the database" and "No official transfer method is possible prior to bank release."

Please provide assistance anons. I tried editing my save file with PKSM and now my digital copy of Sun doesn't load at all. I've tried clearing the save file, clearing my extra data, and redownloading the game itself. Anyone else run into this issue?

Did you use FTP to transfer the save file? I was using FileZilla and it wasn't transferring the whole properly. Try a different FTP client or try transferring directly from the (micro)SD card to your computer. Then it should work. The file that you have imported is now corrupted though so I hope you have a backup.

Not as far as I know, no. A patch shouldn't make a difference though, unless you made your save on a newer patch than the one you're trying to use it from.

You didn't answer what I asked before though, about FTP. It's likely the file didn't copy 100% and you've ended up with a corrupt save. The reason it's not loading is usually because of a corrupt save. Unless you mean the game itself isn't loading at all, not just saying your save is corrupted, in which case, that's a different problem.

Delete the game and redownload it via freeShop.

Well, CIAs might not be legit or proper dumps. Using freeShop means you get the digital version straight from Nintendo's servers, so it's guaranteed to be a proper copy.

That's probably the problem - some of those 3DS editors are dodgy. Have you tried restoring the backup?

You're correct that reinstalling from the eShop should work, but it'd be cleaner if you just deleted the game and its ticket (use FBI or System Settings + tikSweep (https://github.com/DanTheMan827/tikSweep/releases)) then redownlad via freeShop.

You can always reinstall JKSM, but no, that shouldn't do anything. Edited Pokemon shouldn't stop the game from booting, though it's worth having a look in case there's some sort of corrupted data.

It sounds more like the actual game is corrupted though. If it fails to boot, that's not usually a save issue. If the save is corrupted, it should just tell you that and prompt you to start a new game instead.

I was injecting on PKHex for a while towards the end of ORAS and when SM came out I stopped for a while, got caught up with life etc. When I saw the bans that the Pokemon Company issued back in January it left me wondering if they can detect genned mons now? Or is it only illegitimate ones with the wrong movepools, hidden abilities and so on? I really want to get back into injecting but I'm paranoid I might get banned

You can inject any mon you want without getting banned. The only thing is that those with impossible/unavailable sets or other info won't be usable/tradeable online.

To what I recall, the bans in January were due to people making particular changes to their trainer details that are noticed when syncing to the Global Link. Not entirely sure, since I wasn't banned. But I know that if you stick to just injecting mons, you'll be fine.

I suppose this is the best place to ask.

What is the best method if injecting wonder cards into the gen 6 games? Two years ago I did the method here: https://projectpokemon.org/forums/forums/topic/34077-web-browser-wondercard-injection-for-xy-and-oras/

but things have changed a lot since then.
is there a better method for accomplishing this now?
