The in-game ones are pure RNG. You don't need good mons, just good luck, and the strongest faggots killing eachother.
I haven't tried online yet now people actually have good mons (Last I tried on release everyone was level 20 at best while I had my level 50 starter), and I haven't managed to play with friends yet because one of them was a total pussy about losing (he hadn't finished the game yet), and now he isn't, another one simply isn't interested anymore.
Fuck getting 4 players together, I wish it at least had something like triforce heroes when you can just get some random guy from the internet to gang up on.

It's really fun honestly. I play it a lot online. Most people will always bring their legendaries, but i have won against things like zygard and rayquaza with a chatot. You have to predict what 3 people will do. Not just one.

I beat the whole thing in an hour or two with a team of M-Blatoise, Cinccino, and Hydreigon

Master Rank was actually the easiest because my Hydreigon just swept the one fag with a team of legends and the other AIs seemed to prioritize "take out legends" above all else and helped weaken them

Is purely based on luck. The AI is so stupid that when they want to attack somebody they attack it havung in kind another target, so things like Swampert using Waterfall on a Grass-type are very common, and Protect is very common too. Also is more fun than the Battle Tower/Subway/Maison/Tree because this one isn't based on streaks.

In player vs player is another story.

Z-Draco Meteor Latios is my favorite. Bulky, fast and almost guarantees a kill with Devastating Drake and then another Draco.

This modes okay with friends, but the AI play to make sure you in specific don't win, not to win themselves, and as a result make ridiculous plays and sacrifices just to fuck over the player.

It seems weird that they would introduce this mode so early in the game. I imagine a lot of kids who haven't figures out the in and outs of Pokemon getting super frustrated here.

It's a nice way to grind for Battle Points without dealing with the tedious Battle Tree. It's over in about four turns and you get BP regardless of if you win or lose.

Even if you lose in the Master Class you can get up to 3 BP which is awesome.

However, supers in the tree start right out with 2 BP per battle, and with a proper streak you can get much more.
