What kind of director sends a message to both the viewers AND the staff that actually contains plot information when those same staff are already going to know about it?

The message was one of gratitude to the viewers and the staffers who worked with him on the series. All these people looking for shipping hints in the very last scene of the series where he returns to his house are smoking something. Even making it a movie foreshadowing reference (i.e., the same flowers appeared in the teaser trailer) would be weird.

OS, AG, DP, BW, the Hala fight was better animated then nearly everything in those.

XY spoiled us everyone can see that.

But comparing fights that were over 60+ episodes in the making to the 10th episode of a new series is dumb.

Hala's fight was fluid and smooth, it was short, but it looked good.

The biggest issue people have isn't the animation but the art style. I really don't think people know the difference between the two.

However, Z moves are actually stock footage with an overdose of speedlines. SM feels like a low budget anime just like Sailor Moon and Saint Seiya with the return of the stock footage.

Compared to that, XY(&Z)'s foreground footage is more dynamic because it only recycles the characters' wireframe, but plays with the light and the scenery.

Had SM come out after BW it would be looked at the same way XY is in regards to the battle animation. It still uses speedlines yeah, and some of the animation is pretty bad for example Rowlet falling onto Mallow during the butler fight, but overall it is WAY better then anything in the past besides XY.

Like I said above in response to someone elses remarks, the biggest issue people have is with the art style, not the animation.

Give it time, we're only 15 episodes into the series.

Hopefully episode 19 gives us a look at what a potentially important battle will look like.

I think the biggest problem is if Ash wins a League there is no excuse to hold him back anymore.

If he wins a league he has no reason to challenge more gyms which is the main quest in the games. Yeah it you can say he can go challenge another region to train or whatever, but to have him lose after winning 1 defeats that purpose, and he can only win so many before it becomes pointless for him to continue entering them.

The only way to properly get rid of Ash is to phase him out while having the protagonist of the "new series" be a character the audience is already familiar with.

Look at Aikatsu. Ash needs his own Akari. A character who takes up the mantle of protagonist after slowly being introduced to the viewers.

Imagine if Lillie was similar to her game variant and Alola had a proper Pokemon League.

Ash goes through Alola, becomes League champion after travelling with Lillie and Hau through Alola, and the series ends with Lillie leaving on her journey and we start to follow her journey through Kanto.

As for Ash, since he wouldn't be a master yet, he goes somewhere to train or for a 2nd League win before challenging the Elite Four or Champions League.

Ash and Lillie both enter say the Kanto League, Lillie loses early on and Ash wins his second league and then we have something that the series has never explored before.

Ash goes to the Champions League/E4, wins then decides to go become the Pokemon Master on his own.

Then we have Lillie's quest, she goes gets strong for 10 or whatever years then she reaches a level where she wants to fight the strongest trainer. She heads to Mt. Silver where she hears that Trainer is, reaches the top and the person on top is Ash having achieved his dream.

The anime would work better if Ash was allowed to win some leagues. Just imagine if Ash had:

The latest games didn't have gyms and Ash currently isn't even trying for the Alola League because it doesn't exist yet, They could easily have Ash win the Alola League then just phase out the Pokemon league plot.

I kinda want to see Ash compete in the Sinnoh and Johto Battle Frontiers and to have a season as a Pokemon Ranger or something
