Ingots are worthless and anything short of an EX Metal/Cube might as well be nothing, so there's absolutely no reason to factor that into the equation.
If you get at least one UC+ from the first five Common Boxes, then you end up profiting from it.

That depends entirely on what the formula for pulling is. Unless there's datamined math somewhere, or someone's been collecting data over a lot of pulls, then it's just as realistic that a UC+ booster doesn't increase your EX rates at all.

It's not really about getting easier wins, it's about volume of chests. In terms of raw number of figures earned (regardless of rarity), opening after two wins will yield the most amount. And after eight wins, the raw number stops going up.

So the question is just, is is better to open 8 Common Chests, or 1 UC Chest and 3 Common chests?
Or for 11 wins, 21 Common Chests, or 1 R Chest and 3 UC chests?

These are all pretty OP and outclass many figures with similar MP and attacks (like Zapdos and Raikou). Hariyama or Machamp for the gym? Machamp seems better against Mew and other Machamps, but Hariyama's purple move coupled with 3MP seems really good. Other teammates are Natu, Gothorita, Mewtwo, Aggron and Magmar.

After a 6 win streak I lost to this assinine 5 deoxys + shuppet team, after very nearly winning at one point. My greninja attacked his deoxys goalie which was poised to bench itself and guarantee me the win, and he forced me to respin and land on dodge negating his benching himself. Between their respins and the ability to switch formes at will deoxys is insanely broken. This cup giving them all +20 attack doesn't help, either.

No they don't. They want money, and pumping out new figures that are already busted and then buffing them in the next event is literally just creating money from whales that want to spend a weeks worth of food money on getting figures that won't be relevant in a month.

If the developer party wasn't greedy, they would be making events and figures in a much better structured manner that would let you play normally while still opening up doors for people that do want to spend money.

Skill level > Figure quality (i.e. how p2w it is) > RNG
Skill level in this context means not making mistakes, capitilasing on opponents mistakes

obviously if you fork out thousands of dosh you can have the best of the best figs, but I honestly think you'd have to spend thousands by how much the gems cost. The high prices mean you're less likely to encounter someone who convinced their parents to let them spend $100 who has a tonne of better figs than you

Have you ever faced a 5-6 deoxys team with cosmo energy? Even in my luckiest game ever I lost because the speeds can just bum rush their own goal to block and when you attack them they switch to that 150 attack deoxys. I even managed to luck out and hurricane one off the goal and one benched themself but each time a speed deoxys rushes back to cover it and the cycle repeats until you lose.

Deoxys just rubs me the wrong way. Nothing screams "I paid to be better than you" more than the standard 5-6 Deoxys group.

What I think happened with the rankings/trophies is that they never adjusted the rankings for the international release. A ranking of 1,200 is fine when the playerbase is small. There's probably a lot more people playing the game now. A good ranking like 1,200 is just going to be impossible for players to get, even the top ones. I think 200,000 is ridiculous but I can see why they upped it.
