XY's Battle! Gym Leader is my favorite battle theme in the series, KISEKI is my favorite credits theme, and the overworld and cutscene music are generally pretty good, but most of the battle themes are weak which drags the whole thing down a lot. Battle! Xerneas/Yveltal is the only other particularly good one besides the Gym Leader theme.

Original GSC is still the best soundtrack.

It was ok, it had some pretty good tracks. I just don't prefer it because the most common themes (especially wild encounter) and the themes that people have to spend a lot of time with after the game (especially Friend Safari) were irritating as fuck. I wish I could swap in great themes like the Team Flare Battle theme, not just hear those ones repeated over and over.

Hoenn's trumpets are ear-grating, although ORAS' only good quality is that it lets the music shine for once.

My favourite tracks were Malie City (Night), both Lusamine battle themes, Vast Poni Canyon, and Red's battle theme.

I thought that Sun/Moon's normal Pokémon and normal trainer battle themes were minimalistic and uninspired like all normal battle themes, but a lot of the special ones (i.e. Gladion, Team Skull, Aether Foundation, etc.) were really well done.
