Making a bold sacrifice play to revenge-kill a key sweeper with a fresh switch-in could actually skew the odds in your favor if you play it right.

Also, if the opponent is predicting a switch, and you resist the move it uses as a result, you could potentially cripple or kill the counter.

No, Fire blast is awesome. Look at it this way...

Only run Flamethrower is you have Nasty Plot, Calm Mind, or some other boosting move to make up for the low power.
