I'm not sure how I would compare it to XYZ since it's still too early to even compare them and they're completely different things.

My brother strangely has a really bad opinion about the SM anime though and he barely even gives a crap about XYZ and has barely followed the series since Kanto days. He just thinks of it as really ugly looking.
