How do we fix Flinching/Missing/Paralysis? These 3 mechanics

How do we fix Flinching/Missing/Paralysis?

These 3 mechanics can pretty much ruin competitive games and just make the game less fun, with the only exception being Fake Out flinches.

And obvious we can't just make it so that Dynamic Punch and Sheer Cold hit 100% of the time for every Pokémon.

Ideas?

stop trying to get luck out of competitive. luck is part of the game, those moves/mechanics are based on roll. skill isn't just getting rocks and hitting hard. dealing with luck is part of your skill.

Except that Flinching/Missing/Paralysis aren't reactionary and give your opponent a free turn, which is so important to the game that it made a 680 BST Pokemon NU.

Most other luck in Pokemon is fine actually. Getting burned by Lava Plume is reasonable. You can easily deal with being burned. Or when you need to predict, which is part of your responsibility.

What you can't deal with is when a random rock slide flinches you, when you miss Leaf Storm, or when your opponent gets a clean switch in because you were paralyzed.

They won't be such a problem if a free turn didn't matter as much.

And no, the "Just use X/Just don't use C" don't help the problem as many Pokemon need that coverage or power to be viable.

This. There are often moves of the same type that do less damage but have 100% accuracy. Use those if you dont want to take risks.

None of those are problematic. If they were you would see pokemon with those abilities getting actual use.

No Guard is only given to a Mega, 2 FEF (both of which aren't even UU), and a Defensive NFE Pokemon with barely any low accuracy moves.

Inner Focus is only given to 5 usable Pokemon (8 if you count unrealeased), and 4 of them also need a completely different ability.

And the only way to deal with Paralysis entirely outside of having comatose or Misty Terrain.

Fighting and Dark pokemon can't flinch.
Attacks that can't miss get +15 base damage.
T-Wave gets 100% accuracy again. A paralyzed pokemon can't be immobilized two turns in a row.

This is the only one I can stand behind.

Missing attacks is more on the user for choosing attacks with low accuracy.

Take a page from Duel and make Status moves tiered. That way you can predict and block certain status moves with your own.

Additionally, moves of the same style (beam, punch, etc), block each other. If one is stronger than the other, then the user of the weaker move receives the difference in damage.

In some cases, it's perfectly ok to pick Flamethrower over Fire Blast and so on.

But in vast majority of cases, you need that coverage or stronger STAB for your Pokemon to be remotely viable. Most of OU (namely sweepers and wallbrealers) would be completely unviable if you were forced to use HP fighting instead of Focus Blast or can't even use Physical Rock coverage.
And it also affects moves like Leech Seed, Draco Meteor, Toxic, and Will-o-wisp, all of which shouldn't even have a chance to miss in the first place.
