Anyways they also had this "limit subject to changes later" so for all we know either enough people got fucked with the login issues, not many people even know about the event, the limit is already over 50000 or not many people were interested.

See, I always love/hate these types of things, because I'm really just entering for the Mawilite, but I don't want to shame myself by just shitting up with a bunch of rando mons.

So then I spend hours agonizing over what team to bring and with which items and movesets.

I always end up having fun doing it, and usually having fun strategizing, but man, the stress is a killer.

does the pink one hatch green ones from its eggs if it isn't holding an everstone, if so, the green variant is probably treated as an alolan form, meaning you can't bring any pink ones to international even if they have the cross

Hey, you too? I love my shiny Aegislash, even if it's got a shit nature.

I'm building a Sandstorm team, and I thought Aegislash would complement it nicely, plus it's a team I can throw together pretty well from my other mons and have it do well so I don't have to stress about it.

Too bad Aegislash, while obtainable in Alola, isn't in the dex...

You should be able to, the official rules apply to the pokedex number. You just can't use two of them at once

It depends. For example, Raichu, Marowak, Exeggutor, Sandslash, Muk and Ninetales are unusable in their normal forms at least in this format.

Although you could argue that's because movepools, stats, and types are different from one to another, there's this inflexibility in terms of what is from Alola and what isn't. That anon is basically asking some "borderline" question, since that Gastrodon serves no advantage to the other form aside from the color he should be able to use the pink one, however I think it might be banned due to GF's inflexibility as I said.

I was surprised they at least allow egg moves that can be bred through bankmons so at least we have that.

Pretty much. Competitions give you a head start to acquire some that will be available for everyone while other methods might be more akin to: "If you are opted in to get the monthly newsletter you'll get the code to get the X megastone" Remember they did this back in XY and ORAS with things such as the Bird trio with the HAs.
Also they could do some shit like "Go to Gamestop or it's equivalent to get the code for the stone with the pokémon holding it" like half of the Mythicals.

You could always try to play with one in battlespot. "Championship rules" or something like that is the VGC one so try there so you don't get disappointed if for any reason GF folks are dicks and don't let you use your mon.

out of universe explanation is probably they just wanted more steel types. I think she was the first pure one? In gen 2 we had only dual typed (steelix, skarmory, magneton, foretress, scizor)

I registered the west sea gastrodon finally, I ended up getting a perfect 6iv's (zero in attack) and it registered no issues.

You can try registering with a team in advance, and it'll tell you if you have a mon you can't enter.

After a month and a half, the Global Link website finally let me log in and register my game.
Took them long enough to fix the fucking website.

I think its just a short snout, but it could be a beak.
I don't think Mawile's real mouth was ever shown to contain teeth. I figured it could chew or smash things with its horn jaws before eating, but a beak could suffice.
