I'll just copy-paste my post from the other thread here, since that thread seems to be dead.

I'm unsure where this will go. Will Nebby end up becoming Lunala and be with Moon, or Solgaleo and be with Sun? Sun seems to be the protagonist and have a cat theme, so I guessed the latter, but now Moon saves Nebby. No idea what Kusaka is trying with this. Is he trying to make them both the protagonists? Why?

On a side note, I'm glad Moon is the one involved with Lillie. Her personality is even more bland and boring than White's. If her involvement with Lillie can help avoid another Protag/Protag ship and help her get a fucking personality, I'm all for it. Besides, this Sun doesn't seem like the helping type. He'd probably charge Lillie to keep Nebby in bag.

So will it be that Sun takes the Trails, while Moon helps out Lillie? That seems to be how it's going. But then again, since Lillie has the same role as her in-game counterpart and is living with Kukui, I assume Sun at least knows her, so I doubt he'd ignore her. I really don't understand how this will go.

There's also the part about being a battler. Sun already fought off Tapu Koko. He is, at least, strong. I'm expecting a Incineroar to wrestle with Buzzswole in future. Moon seems to be using Rowlet, when did it become her Pokemon? Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing how she'll get strong enough to fight Lusamine.

Gladion is here, finally. Hau still doesn't get any screentime. Poor kid. Wonder if he's knows Sun or not. Popplio wasn't taken, and Moon took Rowlet, so what Pokemon will he get? Masked Royale is in the battle, which is great. Kukui seems to be missing. Wonder what happened to him.

Also, Lillie looks better than I expected her to. That's a plus. Just wish this wasn't a fucking monthly series. I like BW2 manga and all, but I'm more interested in this.

I'm really disappointed with the amount of screentime Moon is getting. From the beginning, we've been following her. Now the entire chapter seems to feature her only. I think she's really boring and just want to see more Sun. Him slapping a receipt on Moon's forehead, or treating Pokedex badly and getting in fight with Kukui were way more interesting and fun things than literally everything Moon's done so far.

There's a still a lot of problems with this. For example, Nebby evolves because he is hurt by Lusamine and then later using the flutes. If there are two of Cosmogs, then the evolution will go completely different route. Not to mention that gives Lusamine no reason to chase after Lillie specifically, since she will have another Cosmog. It's a lot more logical to just assume they will only use one Cosmog. Nebby is the central point of the story.

I didn't dislike Moon initially, but if Kusaka keeps this up, I'll end up hating her. Generally, if one of the protagonists seems to be getting too much screen time, it's because Pokemon Special is going to start running in another magazine soon (probably when BW2 finishes). Pokemon Special is weird as shit, in that it runs in multiple magazines at the same time. Normally, one magazine will mostly have chapters focusing on the boy protagonist while the other has chapters focusing on the boy protagonist. For example, the first chapter of BW released was chapter 5 or 6, which the magazine continued from (it was the introduction of White), while the other magazine started running the real first several chapters (how Black started on his journey).

My guess is that it's coming back to Pokemon Fan soon. That magazine stopped publishing it for a while when the author was getting swamped with three different series at once.

Did you even read the older chapters? He's incompetent and stupid in most of his appearances, and only exhibits a semblance of usefulness in very limited instances. I find the "comedic" bits with him (e.g. the most emphasized personality trait for him) to be incredibly irritating, for example his treatment of the Pokedex, or unintentionally insulting people because he doesn't understand what he's saying.

What IF... Sun is meant to look dumb and weak, for a reason...Have the story play out with Moon as a strong protag, with Lillie, as the game goes. At the point Moon and Lillie play the flutes, and wormhole opens up, and out steps mirror world Sun.. who is built up with the same experience this worlds Moon has, while the other worlds Moon is the dumb weak one. also alt Sun has the other nebby or Solgaleo, if normal nebby is evolved at that point.

It's because the original concept art had the Red player protagonist with an evolved Venusaur.

Nobody would've guessed Charizard's popularity when the series just came out, especially not with the Game Boy's screen and the first batch of ugly sprites.

I've presented other arguments many posts ago, we have taken the original argument and somehow whittled it down to just the Pokedex one. As far as I recall, that's only happened once, when he called Moon depressing. To make up for that, he was pretty careful not to insult Skull Grunts, because he knew what that would lead to. A mistake, in turn, Moon made.

As for the childlike disposition, that's just his personality. It has nothing to do with intelligence or competence. I can see why you would dislike him for this, because I do too.

ORAS in general is a pretty bad arc, the creator probably didn't expect another game in Hoenn and had to pull a ton of shit out of his ass to create a somewhat coherent story around it while shoehorning in the Primals and stuff.

It's just that people thought he would've "grown up" because he didn't show any of those traits in Emerald arc, but as it turns out, the only thing that has happened in the time-gap is that Ruby and Sapphire basically went out on "not dates," but he finally asks her out (but didn't mean it because he is hiding the fact that the world will be potentially destroyed before the actual date happens).

Gladion is pretty fundamentally tied to Lillie's story, while Hau's role can easily be substituted by any other character being a friend. Not necessarily that it will, but it's easy to see why Gladion shows up more explicitly than Hau does in both adaptations so far.
