Even GSC had the capability to do this if you remember that building in Viridian that would let you battle a copy of the last real person you battled. There could have been a prompt on new game to have you connect to a Kanto game to look at your Hall of Fame and name and made that the guy you face on Mt. Silver.

Not saying I would have expected that sort of thing at that time but it's fun to think about and goes to show how crazy it is that they didn't even do the bare minimum when it came to the remakes.

I disagree, seeing as how the "dress" is a wraparound that can be taken off with swimwear under it (don't think it's popular anymore), same for the generic shirt. It literally looks like someone toweled off, put on their generic go see the sights coverup clothes, and left the beach. Personally I think it could be better but it's not a complete failure of design all over the place. If anything the yellow bag stands out the most.
