suggestions to improve my deck? i finished it yesterday and played a little - results were not bad nor really really good, but thats maybe cause i don't know how to play it a 100% right - besides that deck i play a vespiquen/nightmarch deck that works pretty solidly but is really bad if my starting hand and first few extra cards suck. Also got a fundeck with babylugias a lugia ex and an aggron but thats just for the lulz

Either that or just trade with it, that's what I usually do, but I play a lot of non-ex basic decks. He KOs my setup but I take 2 prizes for his 1. The ninja boy plays are the most problematic for any 2HKO centric deck which is why I think for the forseeable future all top tier decks will be OHKO centric decks like garde/mtwo/yveltal/darkrai.

Yeah looks to be the case. I took a small break after steam siege because evolution was shit and it seems some of my decks just don't work anymore. Tauros just destroys my MScizor list, which was my favorite deck to play. Guess I still have MMewtwo and Darkrai/Giratina. Is Giratina even worth playing now? It does nothing against all the GX

Most GX cards are still meme tier other than Tauros, look at the top 32 at Anaheim and there are only 3 GX centric decks so far, the next expansion will change that but until then Giratina is still okay.

Salamence is getting shafted 2x as hard though, card will be useless in a few months. Most people are moving away from darkrai/dragons and into darkrai turbo.

Is Yveltal as a deck just dead in the GX meta?

Fright Night loses a lot of its value and without him having a relevant position it becomes much harder to set up a Yveltal EX to respectable damage output

Pitch Black Spear was really good pre S&M standard, but it barely impacts half the games you play anymore.

Primal Clash, Double Crisis, Roaring Skies, and Ancient Origins are going for sure. Beyond that seems more uncertain to me, since it feels like they'd want to rotate out the whole BREAK block all in one go (i.e. would be weird to rotate BREAKThrough but not BREAKPoint), but getting rid of the whole BREAK block in one swoop right now would leave a relatively sparse amount of sets left.

Anybody what are good cards that'll keep their value on PTCGO?
I'm getting close to 100+ SM codes. With the Guardians set coming out in a few months I don't want the value of my SM packs to go down so I'd rather put them into cards that value may go up with the new set.

Shaymin - Value will slowly begin to dip in the summer as rotation approaches, value will plummet the day rotation is officially announced (or skyrocket if it's not being rotated which is highly unlikely). ROS pack value will basically track Shaymin's value

Octillery - Value will increase sharply if, as people theorize, the rotation will keep BKT on since it will be the strongest draw power pokemon remaining.

Oranguru - Value will increase slightly after rotation if shaymin leaves and it will increase more if Octillery does

PLF packs and SR ultras - These ultras are higher rarity than SM ultras and will not be reprinted, so the value of these super expensive cards and the packs you draw them from will remain high. SM ultras will likely see a slow decline in value, especially if they're reprinted in future SM sets.

Lurantis-GX - Value will take a hit after poor performance at Anaheim, but will increase quite a bit with SM2 due to Bulu and baby Lurantis.

Cards that are already in Legacy like Junk Arm have an extremely stable value and are a good way to store value especially since there is no indication that they will ever rotate sets out of legacy and into unlimited only.

If you want a sure shot go for shaymemes, their price floats really a lot so it's easy to get a profit. Ignore Decidueye GX for now, but be on watch: they might reveal something that can act as a substitute for forest and this will inflate it's value.

Shaymin is still mandatory in expanded so if you're going to sit on it for a long time it's actually going to increase in value, it'll drop as standard only players dump their shaymins on the market when the rotation is officially announced but it'll start rising again.

And if you're just holding on to them until guardians, that's still like 4-5 months before rotation, there's still gonna be huge demand for Shaymin.

Soul Blaster isn't an attack you want to build a deck around, but it can be useful as a backup attacker in Rayquaza if you run metals. I want to try it with Mewtwo to help shore up the Gardevoir matchup but I've heard that it just kills your consistency.

was thinking of using it with either break brozongs, or solgaleo. Its my first time working with metal decks, and I wanna prepare for my bro metagross gx coming in may's expansion.

You have to attach and discard a shitload of energy to attack, you need a lot of bronzongs on deck to keep the flow going. It's less of a problem in expanded than in standard where steel lacks a good energy accelerator but still a big issue for the deck especially when one archeops gets into play and cuts off your flow of evolutions.

Because Decidueye was overhyped thanks to FoGP. Tons of HP, a spammable ability, a great GX attack, and the ability to swarm them t1 made for lots of hype.

And then Anaheim was its big test and it flopped. It might do well in Expanded but we'll see.

Nice to know both Yveltal and Darkrai lose absolutely nothing after rotation except Shay like everyone else. I guess silent lab and rope but those aren't that big.

Because when you load your deck with thin lines of pokemon and split your energies to support them you end up getting hands that just don't do shit.

Think of PTCG as a puzzle. The cards you have in your hand and in play are like pieces of a puzzle. The key to winning a game is being able to fit a few pieces together every single turn. When you have shit with no synergy like aggron/m-scizor/primarina/greninja you are much more likely to have turns where you simply can't do anything than you are if you focused on building a deck around any one of those.

That said, you absolutely shouldn't run Primarina in a deck with anything but water and maybe some DCE, and Greninja/Primarina have huge anti-synergy because Greninja is a low cost attacker while primarina scales with energy, so greninja belongs in a low energy deck with good ways to recover discarded energy while Primarina wants a deck with stuff like elixirs to stack up water energy quickly.

Primarina is shit btw, but if you're gonna try to use her you have to build an extremely tight deck around her for it to have a chance at working. Stage 2 lines in general aren't very good right now because of how inconsistent it is to get them in play.

Mixed attackers need to compliment each other in some way, whether that is sharing the same support cards, or at least one shoring up a weakness for the other. Octillery can be good support for your water types not because they are both blue, but because dive ball works for multiple game layouts.

just in general, your ratios of pokemon counts to trainer card counts to energy are very off compared to all those decks that are proven winners.

first decide if you are trying to build a Greninja deck, a Scizor deck, or a something-else deck then come back. Also how hard is it to rotate a picture. Also also read the FAQ in the OP.

Drawing "just" three cards is a decidedly mediocre thing to spend your Supporter use on, so it doesn't have the limiter like Juniper and Sycamore does. They have the exact same effect, but because they have different names they're technically different cards. You could actually use four Cheren, four Tierno, and four Hau in Expanded if you really wanted to be supermeme.

This is the basic trainer skeleton that most decks should run. Unless you have a reason to deviate away from this you probably shouldn't. Other trainers vary based on the deck and what techs you want to have, good general purpose one-of cards include delinquent, parallel city, pokemon ranger, hex maniac, and brock's grit. Other stuff like dive/level/nest balls, revitalizer, special charge, and other stadiums depends on what pokemon you're using.
