Would you rather be friends with a hard-core pokemon fan that hates your favorite game/gen/pokemon etc... or a normie who's favorite pokemon is pikachu/generic gen 1/loves Go etc...?

First. I already have some of those. It's not that bad. Just don't bring up discussions about your favorites and you're good to go. Also makes for some fun rivalry.

The Normie. Hating on any of the games/generations/Pokemon is silly and the people who do just aren't fun to be around.
You can at least mess with the Normie and see their reactions to some of the more wacky designs.
