No. It nerfed Bronzong and Metagross a bit, but Aegislash needed a hit. Also, with the addition of Fairies, Dark would be too weak because it would have had too many resists and weaknesses to outweigh its usefulness (resisted by Steel, Fairy, Dark and Fighting; weak to Bug, Fighting, and Fairy; only good against 2 types).

The Steel nerf helped keep Dark useful.
