Lumineon has a base stat of 69 in its HP and both Offenses lol

Onix has higher attack than Meditite.

Miltank has the same base speed as Salamence

Back in gen V I had a joke team with a scarf miltank, seeing Miltank damages a Mence who then DD only to speed tie, gets hit again and fainted is priceless.

There are a number of Pokemon ruined because Game Freak decided to try make them mixed attackers and screwed their other stats up in the process.

Don't forget Sceptile. Amazing physical movepool, higher special attack. What other generations have mons infamous for those things? I know Decidueye, Incineroar, Kommo-o, Solgaleo and Lunala have mixed offences despite not needing them - Decidueye and Incineroar should've had less special attack and more speed, Kommo-o should've focused on one offence, and Solgaleo and Lunala should've had the offence they didn't rely on go into their weaker defence or speed.

To be fair, Sceptile was kinda good in gen III, it just got fucked by physical/special split.

And come on, it's not like running him physical is a showderp-tier meme, mega has 110 base attack, access to SD and STAB Outrage.

Articuno is one of the biggest victims of the special split. Used to hit like a truck while being bulky enough to shrug off Thunderbolts and Flamethrowers.

I would also add in that Gyrados was probably the hardest hit, going from 100 Special to 60 Special Attack. In RBY, it could hit hard on BOTH ends with Thunderbolt, Fire Blast, Earthquake and Surf. It wouldn't be good again until Gen 4 where it finally got physical water moves. Chansey is also a bit of an odd case seeing as it went from 105 Special to 30(!) Special Attack, but Game Freak gave it an evo in Gen 2 to compensate.
