Some stats are more valuable than others. A 160 Atk means something different than a 160 Sp Def. Having simultaneously high offenses is not quite as useful as simultaneously high defenses. And a high speed stat is useful only to a point.

I had no idea so many same-gen starters had unequal BSTs. It's so random, especially in cases like Delphox.

Let's say all starters below 535 BST get buffed to that. Who benefits most from properly allocated points.

Charizard needs that +1 speed. It doesn't care much about the +1 attack/special attack since it doesn't kill anything it didn't already.
Typhlosion is the same.
Feraligatr wants speed.
Sceptile and Mega Sceptile's boosts are ridiculously useless.
So is M-Swampert's swap.
Decidueye doesn't give two shits about defense. It wants speed.

The rest is sorta barely an improvement.

I think we should boost them all to 540. These are our first Pokemon, are some of the more well-known Pokemon of the generation, and a lot of them have some weird stat distribution.

I say bump Gens I, II, III and IV to 535. All the others should be in the 530 limit.

Venusaur and Meganium should get +10 HP, while Torterra should have +5 in both defenses.
Blastoise should have +5 HP, while Sceptile should get +5 in Special Attack.
Empoleon +2 in HP and +3 in Defense, while Feraligatr +2 in Special Defense and +3 in Speed.
Blaziken should get +5 in Speed since that's the most irrelevant boost for it.
All the 534 Fires should get +1 Speed. Except Delphox, which should have -4 in Attack.
Unova starters all would get +2 in their biggest stat.
