The eternal debate.

Dark skinned Chicken chan
Why is he named Red if his team is based on Yellow?
>>31827860
Why would they change his name based on his team? are you stupid or something?
>>31827817
>Red stayed gay with Green
>Ash forgot about Gary
It's clear who the real winner is
>>31827817
Peak Ash would curbstomp Red with so much power of friendship bullshit it's not even funny. Ash's mons at there best ignores type weaknesses themselves to plot themselves into victory.
They should've made Red's team have Red-exclusives, and Blue-exclusive for Blue's
>>31828097
And when you take into account pikachu bsing able to take down multiple very tough pokemon. Like tyranitar, metagross, latios.
It might just sweep his whole team if it doesnt get tired.
Greninja and pikachu would still job to mega charizard x however. Thats a cannon lost.
Unless its game red with no mega blastoise maybe ash would win. But hes such a jobber its not even funny.
Is there really a debate? Red accomplished pretty much everything that Ash never could. He beat the E4, became champion, bitched his rival at every opportunity, defeated the evil team singlehandedly, and probably tons of pussy. He became a legend, and is still to this day a fan favorite. Ash is such a failure on so many levels that it baffles me how he still manages to find friends who respect him. He has a cardboard personality, constantly makes a fool out of himself, barely catches anything, can't even fully evolve more than half of his pokemon, loses EVERY time he goes the the league, and still gets tricked by the same 2 fucking retards' antics after nearly a decade of the show. He is the epitome of a failure, and the only comparison you can draw between him and Red is that they were design to look alike.

Reminder that Red is the only protagonist that canonically lost a battle and thus the only one we definitely know is not the strongest trainer.

It's pretty fucking autistic to write this much about how much better a video game character that's literally just "you look like this" is than a character from a TV show.
Do you see people write this much about how good a character Pac-Man is?
>>31827817
anyone picking ash is a nostalgia faggot, ash by far the worst trainer got half his badges handed to him and typically ignores good pokemon for cute shit that would get murdered in real battles

Lol this faggot assumes it takes long to write a paragraph. Not everyone is shit at organizing their thoughts into sentences like you. You typed just as much complaining about an autist, which actually makes you even more autistic as a result. Congrats, fag.
>>31827817
Well, as for what Red is canonically said to be like then there's no contest as to who wins even if Ash has a better team to choose from.

Disgusting, kys.

>The answer's obvious, really. Due to the constant cyclical nature of the anime that airs basically week after week with no real stopping and no end goal in mind, you can't have any kind of progression. So this is a fascinating case study of a character that is unable to change, unable to succeed and unable to age.
In short, Red is able to age and grow despite being a Player Avatar of the first generation; hell, he might as well be in his 20s in Sun and Moon. Ash never grows because the producers won't let him; pikachu's too popular as a mascot for the franchise and his show is too popular to end as a series. That's why he loses at every single league he entered.
>>31833837
>the show can't continue if ash wins something for once in his fucking life
>>31833912
I don't think this is the case at all. They could easily explain his journey continuing by wanting to become even stronger. They could have him come home to celebrate and get his ass kicked by Gary (again), teaching him that just because he won a league doesn't mean he's a "pokemon master"
I don't mind seeing him choke in every league but given that he took his first loss to TR this season I wouldn't be surprised if he won whatever league they come up with.
>>31833955
>given that he took his first loss to TR this season
He didn't, that was a mistranslation
>>31827817
Ash was a mistake. The anime should've been about the actual game protagonists rather than a fucking jobber.
>>31833988
This. /thread
This debate is normie food and autism. In an actual battle, we all know who would win.
>>31833985
Well fuck. I knew it was too good to be true.
Point still stands though.
>>31833955
Yeah, it could, but it won't.
And this is because the people in charge of the anime think exactly like the post you replied to.
>>31833988
This
>>31833988
This, actually. They should just pull an Yu-Gi-Oh and replace the protagonist with every new region. The SM style change and the higher-stake feeling of XY was the perfect time to do that.
The problem is Pikachu, the franchise is so tied to it that they would need to give the protagonist one too and at that point they'd just be Ash.
It baffles me that there are still people far above the target age of the anime that defend Ash, literally the stalest "protagonist" of all time. The show does not exist to push boundaries or provide narrative competence. It exists to sell merch using bare minimum plotlines and contrivances to keep them going as a vehicle.
Honestly, there's no bigger self-insult than defending the anime.

>The problem is Pikachu, the franchise is so tied to it that they would need to give the protagonist one too and at that point they'd just be Ash.
Sum it all up; this is Pikachu and Meowth show.
>Taking a kid show and game this fucking seriously.
>Then again, what are opinions?
>>31827817
They're both fucking jobbers, the only difference is that Red is a professional jobber as in he gets to be in a lot of game just so you can defeat him and feel strong.
>>31827817
Alan is a chuuni faggot who powerleveled a single Charizard. Red represents the player character, who can typically beat people who do that provided they didn't do that themselves. Because Ash can't beat Alan but Red can, Red therefore defeats Ash.
>>31833955
No the creators actually state that if ash wins a league his series if over
>>31836057
They never said that. Retards that misquote an interview, or more likely, just parrot each other, say that.
