I live in a somewhat rural area, so I barely get any decent mons. But the absolutely worst part is the lack of pokestops. The nearest stop is still a few km away. No balls = no pokemon catching.

But then I moved to the capital for 3 months and it was fucking exciting. Not only did I manage to get a lot of shit I was missing, it encouraged me to go around the city.

I started spoofing strictly so I could get Pokeballs and I bought a Pokemon Go Plus so I can collect on my way to work, at work and on my way back. Gives me just what I need so that, when I do get to play, I can actually ride my bike around town and play.

I usually just have my GPS set to a location down the road from my work that has 3 stops instead of parking somewhere like NY and abusing it all the more. It doesn't justify me cheating, but I feel more happy doing it on a local level and ignoring catching wild Pokemon while I work.

Also the Pokefrap is pretty good.

You were saying that living in a populated area is "easy mode", which means that you think living in a rural area is "hard mode". I'm not complaining about the game being hard enough. I'm simply saying that having to rely on RNG more heavily doesn't make a game harder.

I live in a rural area when I'm not at university. There are very few Pokestops and good spawns so all you can do is just hope that you hatch good eggs or travel to your nearest town.

After reports from the past few days, it's become pretty clear that Unown is the rarest pokemon across both generations. It spawns less frequently than any other "rare". It seemingly appears in every biome though.

How exactly do nests, biomes and habitats work? As far as I can tell, habitats are just biomes where a particular Pokemon is more common than others. But can different Pokemon spawn from a nest? For example, there is an Electabuzz nest in my city centre. Could a Mareep or other Electric-types spawn there?

Areas are divided up into broad binomes like "cold", "desert", ect. Then within those are smaller binomes like cities. Then there's a third set of spawn points that spawn in proximity to certain landmarks (rivers, power plants, alleyways, ect). Nests can spawn anywhere and have anything, regardless of binome, except regionals. Nests only have one specific Pokemon and have nothing to do with anything in the area.
