Installing and using pkhex seems like a decent amount of work. Is it really all that much better than pksm? Does pksm have a generation feature or is it all modification?

I don't know if what I'll say is relevant to anyone or if it will sound like a rant or muh blog, but after using it normally for a long time, my cfw version of JKSM started malfunctioning out of the nowhere, Everytime I went to import a save file, it would corrupt it in every game. Thank God I keep my backups. So I started using savedatafiler instead, not so intuitive to use, but quite easy and never gave me any problems ever again. Of course, I was using the latest .cia , maybe the homebrew version of JKSM won't have this issue for those who use it.

The reason why I'm saying this is because maybe the issue can happen to someone else, so I can't recommend JKSM anymore.

Having difficulty with getting certain egg moves onto Alolan Pokemon like A-Ninetales and A-Muk. Shows up as an invalid move even though it's a valid one via breeding, like Freeze-Dry or Imprison.

It's recommended to use the premades and work from there. You can randomize the PID, but don't make it all zeroes.

IVs determine characteristics, just fiddle around with the numbers more and you'll get it eventually.

SID is a trainer's "Secret ID" that makes it so that another trainer with your name, but not SID, is seen as different in terms of ownership. It's a different value to your TID. You can find out with yours is if you trade a Pokemon to someone who has Homebrew, or you can do it yourself if you have it.

Latest OT can be any name.

It says the mon I'm trying to create should have a Link Trade HT memory and a HT memory intensity value. I can't see either of those things in the drop-down boxes. I want it to simulate being banked from RBY to Sun.

Also, are contest stats still a think in Sun/Moon? Do you usually leave them as all zero's when injecting something? Or is there some plausible random stat spread for this?

I'd recommend running its HA (it partners perfect with Drought-setters, such as Zard-Y) and replace HP with Sunny Day to bring the sun back out if weather gets replaced.

Also, replace Aerial Ace with Synthesis if you do plan on running with a sun partner.

Leafeon isn't designed as a mixed attacker, and the way your EVs are set up, you aren't even putting anything into its useless SpA as it is.
It is a physical attacker and tank that relies on the sun to make the most of its okay speed stat. I really recommend reconsidering your moveset if you are serious about using it competitively.

Quick question here by a fucking idiot.

I'll a little unsure as to how to run pokemon sun through HANS. I am updated to 11.3, but I updated homebrew and the menu opens fine and I can use JKSV just fine. So I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I only have HBL, I don't have Luma or A9LH

When I try to use HANS and turn Romfs to yes I get an invalid error. I'm too stupid to really understand the guides that are posted in the op. I don't even care too much about injects, I just want to take screenshots.
