I like Dustotooth because it's a combination of Dust, Tooth, and Tusoteuthis. All three make sense thematically.

I feel like it would be hard to combine something with cuttlefish because you have to either have the "uttle" or the "two syllables + fish" to make it recognizable, and both are kind of weird to say.

In all fairness the idea of a ghost whale is hardly unique.
I actually like the idea of a desert that's too dangerous to explore because there are giant squids and whales constantly fighting in the dunes.
