I don't know what GFIDF is. I prefer emerald to HGSS but the latter are definitely better remakes compared to ORAS.

HGSS were trash because they didn't fix the issues of the shitty as fuck pokemon distributions and level curves, and balance got even more fucked by previously balanced gym leaders suddenly getting insane boosts from new moves and the physical special split. It suffers from being too close to the original, simply because that worked for FRLG, who just needed an improved engine.

ORAS went the opposite way and fucked up level curves and balance because of shitty gen 6 exp systems fucking over the previously decent curve and not bothering to bring back some of the most liked elements of the gen.

It's like GF doesn't understand what was wrong with each of its old games past RBY.

Just started a fresh SoulSilver run and falling in love with Johto all over again. Still the best region. And I got a Heracross for my team on the second try headbutting trees.

Never used it. It had 3 minigames or something? I only remember it from skimming the guidebook.

I never got to use it much but it was still better than Festival Plaza
