But there are plenty of pokemon whose strongest STAB, or both of their STABs, are below 100 BP. Kartana's movepool could be better but you talk as if it's a lost cause entirely. If anything, it's Kartana's typing that holds it back from being an offensive powerhouse, its movepool is fine

a lot of those pokemon have high bulk, great offensive typing and/or some special way to boost damage

its clear that kartana's specialty is beating pokemon that rely on defense and evasion modifiers, outside of that is where we start having issues. the neutral STAB does indeed suck, but outside of sacred sword most of its attacks rely on critical hits to patch their lower base power, or its user being incredibly strong
